It’s a fun layout but the fact that the sprinklers came on at 9 AM on a Saturday and soaked my bag and proceeded to stay on for 30 minutes is a joke. Also the greens are in horrible shape…

Tee boxes ok. Fairways lush and very nice. Greens hairy and bumpy. Had a quick afternoon round

Had a great day today playing with my youngest son. We made a tee time for 340pm since it was slightly cheaper and at least part of our round, hopefully, would be in some cooler temps. Service was excellent from the entire staff. From the friendly club attendant who met us at the bag drop to the lady at the desk that insisted my son was 12 (who had just turned 13 a few weeks ago) and there would be no charge for him today. Also, the attendant who filled our cooler and sold us our Powerades was very friendly as well as the nice lady at the starter’s station and the cart attendant that took our cart at the end of the round and insisted on throwing all our trash away and told us not to bother with it…he congratulated my son for his birdie on a par 3 today as well. Overall the course was in pretty good shape. I read several reviews on Google as well as some other golf apps that made it sound like this course was terrible. Almost did not book this course, but so glad that we did. The tee boxes were all in decent shape, nothing that was horrible, all had grass but a few were starting to show some wear. Fairways were all in really good shape, I saw no major issues anywhere. Now the green

Great lay out!!! If you like playing a nice course and wallet friendly for being in Destin area, this is it! Very friendly staff! The starter Joe was very informative and accommodating! Course was in great shape! They did sand the greens, so they were slow! Something that has to been done though! No good time to do it!

If you’re looking for a golf course near Destin or Sandestin that’s actually fun to play more than once, Baytowne Golf Club delivers. A lot of resort courses in Florida look pretty but feel repetitive after a few holes. Baytowne is different. Every hole feels unique with elevation changes, doglegs, water hazards, pine trees, and bay views that make you think through every shot instead of just grip and rip driver all day. The course is inside Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and is one of the more challenging public golf courses in the area without being miserable for average golfers. The front nine winds through wooded areas with tighter fairways while the back nine opens up with more elevation and incredible views toward Choctawhatchee Bay. Hole layouts are memorable, especially the par 3s and risk reward par 5s where one bad decision can absolutely wreck a scorecard in a hurry. Course conditions were excellent. Greens rolled smooth and fast without being unfair, tee boxes were clean, and fairways had great coverage. Drainage here is also noticeably better than a lot of Florida courses after rain. Pace of play moved well, which matters because nobody wants a 5 and a half hour rou
